DataBase - back on-line

The Dylan Covers DataBase is available again.

New in the DylanCover.com collection:
Charley D. and Milo

I'll Keep It With Mine (5:02)
Charley D. and Milo
Charley D. and Milo
LP: Epic BN 26533; 1970 (US)

Charles Dennis Harris and Lon Milo DuQuette both came from the Midwest. They met in California, began writing together and performed as a duo. The group expanded to a quintet - adding Joe Wilson, Dave Dunn & Dave Ledbetter - before recording this eponymous album.
Their rendition of I'll Keep It With Mine is typical of California country-rock circa 1970, replete with harmonies and steel guitar. Never on CD to my knowledge.

Tambong

Brazil's Vitor Ramil sings two of his Portuguese translations on his 2000 album. A Spanish language version of Tambong was also released. On Vitor's website, the song titles listed for both versions are the same, I don't know if this is correct.
Your best options to find this CD are eBay or one of the Brazilian music specialists.

Strumming to The Wilbury's added to Dylan Cover Albums

I had not intended to add the Strumming to The Wilbury's CD to Dylan Cover Albums, but after several readers asking about it I have reconsidered. It does not qualify for any of the main pages, so I have added it to the Near Misses pages.
It's a strange CD, there is no performer or producer credits, no mention of the record company, no info at all beyond the tracklist, which is not in sequence and missing a track (Rattled)!
I do not include all Traveling Wilburys songs in the Dylan Covers DataBase, only those associated with and generally credited to Dylan. This tribute includes all three of the Dylan associated songs from the 1st Traveling Wilburys album: Congratulations, Tweeter and The Monkey Man, and Dirty World. (Tracks 1,2 & 6).

There are three changes to the promotional artwork used around the internet (shown at right), and still showing on most retailer sites: "To The" has been added to the title, "Featuring these selections..." has been changed to "A Tribute To The Traveling Wilburys", and, appropriately for this acoustic album, the electric guitars have been replaced by acoustic guitars!
